Project Dhvani // Lessons from listening: using emerging acoustic technologies to conserve India’s forests

What does conservation sound like? Project Dhvani is a long-term research collaborative which utilizes sound (i.e. bioacoustics) to monitor biodiversity across human-modified landscapes in India. The co-founders will introduce the work of their team, who place emerging technologies within forests to record sound and ask questions related to wildlife and people. By analyzing bioacoustic data from forests in central India and the Western Ghats, we uncover previously unexplored patterns about how our natural sounds are shaped.
